Evolution

The "Office of Digital Education" is a newly established administrative unit on campus, starting from August 1, 2024, in response to the evolving trends in digital learning worldwide. Our primary responsibility is to foster excellence in digital teaching and learning. The office has two divisions: the "Division of Instructional Development for E-Learning" and the "Division of Educational Partnership and Marketing."
We are dedicated to collaborating on digital learning initiatives with partner universities abroad, creating new online learning platforms, promoting various online camps and lectures, and providing training for digital teaching excellence. Our vision is to embrace the era of globalised digital education.
Previously known as the "International Cloud Academy," our establishment was inspired by the virtual "cloud college" at CYCU, which was first introduced in 2015 under the Center for Teaching Excellence within the Office of Academic Affairs. Over time, the digital teaching environment became mature and functional, enabling professors to conduct cyber-physical dual online courses and establish inter-school cooperation mechanisms.
In 2019, the Office of International Affairs collaborated with six top universities from Korea, France, the Netherlands, and China to ally global education. This collaboration focused on a distance teaching platform as the first phase, sharing online engineering, business, and design courses with recognised credits to enhance international exchange. The aim was to improve the sharing of educational resources worldwide and encourage student mobility.
With our continuous efforts in online education and in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the entire educational system adapted to the challenge of online teaching. Distance learning has become more critical in meeting students' learning needs.
Aligned with the "Blueprint for Developing Taiwan into a Bilingual Nation by 2030," initiated by The Executive Yuan of the Taiwan Government, we recognise that raising national bilingual ability and global competitiveness extends beyond the traditional physical curriculum. Therefore, we have established this new academy to develop and manage an international online learning environment. We leverage high-quality cloud learning resources, facilitate diverse self-study methods, cultivate students' awareness of global competitiveness and lifelong learning, and introduce world-class scholars and experts to the campus. We aim to foster diverse and critical thinking in students and expand their global perspectives, embodying our school's educational doctrine of student-oriented success through the full inspiration of talent and the profound power of education.
